About

I have been making high quality, handcrafted jewellery for over a decade, I love using sea glass, the thought that it could have been tumbled for hundreds and hundreds of years is so inspiring. Each piece really is a unique treasure!
I has always had a passion for Art and Design, from a very young age I would spend hours drawing, illustrating and painting. I love all things creative, from art top architecture and fashion.
I found it difficult to choose which area would be my speciality, eventually deciding on Interior Design where I studied Interior Design at Leeds College of Art and Design. After University I worked on commercial interior design projects.
I have over 10 years’ experience working for the domestic interior design market, styling homes, however this type of work became unfulfilling and restrictive. Married with two beautiful children, I felt I needed a new challenge and my love for supporting children’s learning and development lead to me returning to college to train to be a teaching assistant, which is incredible rewarding.
However, if you are a creative person, it never really leaves, it’s impregnated within your DNA, simply a part of who you really are, and expression of your personality and creative roots. As for so many, busy family life sometimes surpasses creative reflections, but for me it was during a precious family holiday to Cornwall and a newfound love for the English coast and beach life, this was where my family discovered what true treasures the sea shore beholds.
Sea glass tumbled for possibly hundreds and hundreds of years, yes it really can be that old! Tossed from a pirate ship sculptured and shaped into beautiful jewels and washed up on the shore. Sea glass hunting became a magical and enchanting part of the Shaw family holiday. But next what to do with these multicoloured sea gems? Like nature my sea glass jewellery evolved and reached out to her creative side and began to reignite my passion for Art and Design once again. And here I am, lucky enough to be designing and creating these beautiful pieces of jewellery which can be loved and create special memories for years to come.
